Transparents:
Transparents are a fantastic new materail. They are very soft and flow like flashabou. A very important thing to understand about transparents is that the band is very week. Do not rely on it to hold the fly together. But the strands are extremely tough!! They are stronger than mylar. So make sure when you wrap your fly you are tying on the strand. They are great to mix with other colors to create your own shades of colors. A good example would be to take Transparent yellow and mix it with a soft blue to create a light green fly. Vary the shade of green by mixing more or less yellow and blue. Transparents will allow you to make your own custom shades of flys.
2" banded:
The 2" banded mylar is completely new to the market. It is used to make all types of creations. Use it to make Chedder or Coho flys. Use it to make your own twinkie or meat riggs. A unique use of it is to make fly skirts with it. Put them at the head or tail end of your standard 4" fly to create your own custom magnum flies. Or put 2 together to make a 4" fly. The posabilities are endless!!!
Holographics & UV:
